The wedding ceremony began with a sense of reverence as guests gathered in the historic church adorned with intricate stained glass windows, humble pews and timeless architecture. The bride, Cori, radiant in her white couture gown, walked down the aisle with her father as her groom, Tor, set eyes on her for the first time that day. Not a dry eye was to be found in that moment, as they beamed at each other across the church.
The ceremony itself paid homage to the centuries of tradition, complete with an exchange of rings, and a heartfelt sermon that underscored the gravity of the commitment being made. "Love isn't just a feeling, love is a verb," the priest declared and spoke of the dedication marriage takes to cultivate love over the years, not just in the beginning.
Leaving the hallowed halls of the church behind, the couple and their closest family and friends boarded the beautiful white Old Town Trolley to head Windansea Beach. Here, the scene shifted from tradition to tranquility as the vast expanse of the ocean crashed alongside the shore, creating a backdrop of unparalleled beauty. Cori + Tor often find themselves along this stretch of beach, accompanied by their adorable floof of a dog Klemm, so it was a no brainer to capture their wedding day portraits in this meaningful place so close to their home.
As the evening sun began it's descent, laughter and clinking glasses filled the air as guests mingled, savoring a delightful feast that seamlessly blended gourmet cuisine with coastal San Diego flavors on the chic rooftop patio of the La Jolla Cove Hotel.
Toasts were exchanged by family and loved ones to celebrate Cori and Tor's wedding day, with a highlight coming from the bride's sister who had saved notes the two exchanged as children growing up together. After many laughs and a couple happy tears, the party really ramped up when the dance floor opened with the Irish roots of Cori's family coming out in full swing, complete with drinking games, the limbo, step dancing, and even her uncle doing headstands on the dance floor!
